Getting to Know You :: Lisa

Happy Halloween everyone! We have a special treat for you today! We've reached the last interview in our "Getting to Know You" Peachy Keen Designer series. We hope you've enjoyed learning more about each of these amazing women who make our stamps sparkle & shine!

Lisa Buttafuoco
has been a blessing in our PK DT family. She is one of the most thoughtful, caring people you will ever meet but also won't hesitate to tell you how she feels about something. That balance makes her a fantastic friend! Innovative and inventive, Lisa is always testing uncharted waters, creating from an imagination that is only limited by the time constraints of tending to two toddler daughters! Here's how Lisa answered her questions for this week!

How long have you been a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps?
I have been on the design team since the Summer of this year. When I was asked to join the team I about fell off my chair. I was so excited but then I panicked!

How would you describe your design style?

I am laughing because I am not sure what my style is!! Whatever is in my crazy mind at the moment. But I do like to do some fun things that will put a smile on someone's face.

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Set?
No fair! This is a hard question..I couldn't just pick one!! I do find myself using the Everyday Character Faces all the time and I love the Winter Peekers. When I saw the PKS Monster faces I just giggled and fell in love. I think I can go on and on with my favorites. Honestly when I think I have my favorite Kathy comes out with even more to knock my socks off. I

Besides stamping, what other crafts and hobbies do you enjoy?
I am an avid cooker, all day and night. I truly enjoy cooking and would cook all day if I could. I just HATE cleaning!! One of my favorite things to do is take left overs and make a whole different meal with things people would normally throw away. When I need something that I don't have, I make it myself. The bus stop is in front of my house and the kids come off of it and if I am outside they yell "Miss Lisa, any goodies today?". It makes me smile to make people happy.

Who inspires you?
First and foremost my kids. But I also get inspiration from the oddest places. I will be dressing my kids and just stare at them and admire what they are wearing and the next thing I know I jump up and run into my craft room to write down my idea before I forget it. I just love the patterns in children's clothing.

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies -you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
My Paper cutter, cardstock, Cricut Expression, white gel pen and of course oodles of glue!

What is your crafty space like?
You don't want to know. I have moved it 2x's and I still keep growing and growing with all of my stuff. I don't get alot of time in my room and never get to pick up from the project before. I have to climb over things at times. I have a huge scrap room with several tables but I work out of a small 12X12 space. One day I am going to be on the TV show Hoarders!

What is your favorite music to play while creating?
Depends on my mood. Sometimes I put on the top 40's, and other times I just bop along (thank goodness no one is watching) to 80's or 90's music.

Here's Lisa's favorite PKS project she's created as a DT member (it's OUR favorite, too!!!)

Peachy Keen Stamps :: Getting to Know Samantha

Samantha Casey has been crowned the "Queen of Scenes" in the Peachy Keen Design Team, and once you take a peek around her blog, you'll see why! ;) We are so lucky to get a few glimpses into Samantha's colorful imagination! We all say if only we could spend one day in her mind...

How long have you been a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps?

I have been designing for Peachy Keen since May 2010.

How would you describe your design style?
I would have to describe my style as imaginative and detailed. I try to create a story in all of my cards and projects.

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Set?
I love a lot of the Peachy Keen stamp sets, it is very hard to choose just one. I would say my favorite is “faceless fruit”. That was one of the first stamp sets I owned, and I have used it for many cards.

Who inspires you?
I find inspiration from my family, friends, artists, designers, and life itself. I find it inspiring when people create projects with pride and confidence, and are not afraid to be different.

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies -you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
I would bring stamps, ink, copic markers, cardstock, and my x-acto knife.

What is your crafty space like?
My crafty space is a large section in my basement. Everything is organized and can be found easily when needed.

What is your favorite music to play while creating?

I actually don’t listen to music when I am crafting, I usually have the television on.

Here's Samantha's FAVORITE Peachy Keen project she's made! {We ADORE it, too!}

And here's one of our favorites from Samantha! Aren't these two the cutest couple ever?!

Thanks for stopping by, everyone!
Come back next Sunday to read more about Lisa!

Peachy Keen Stamps :: Getting to Know Emma

I owe a huge apology to Emma and our readers for not posting this on Sunday! I am not sure what happened - all I know is that I just put an alarm on my phone for all future blog posts!! ;) Sorry guys! Here is Emma's Getting to Know You:

Emma of My Creative Time is a wonderful addition to our team, and when we saw the projects she began making with her Peachy Keen Stamps a few years ago, we knew she'd be a star! With two DVDs and an exciting blog where she teaches you how to use your Gyspy, there's nothing this girl can't do! Join Emma for her "Throwback Thursdays" - dusting off your older Cricut cartridges to make something new & fresh!

How long have you been a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps?

For 11 BEAUTIFUL months now!;)

How would you describe your design style?
I would describe it as, clean, original & Fun!

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Set?
TOO MANY to mention, but if I had to have just ONE set, it would be "Everyday Character Faces Asst"!
Besides stamping, what other crafts and hobbies do you enjoy?
I love to Cook!

Who inspires you?
My Family & good friends!;)

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies -you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
My "GYPSY" Girl, Cricut, my Polka Dot paper, my White Gel Pen & my Zip Dry Glue!

What is your crafty space like?
My space is cozy, comfy, crafty & PERFECT!

What is your favorite music to play while creating?

Old School! Especially my Prince;)

In your own words...

I don't know about all of you, but for some strange reason, all of my Creative Juices start flowing late @ night! I usally don't go to bed until after midnight EVERY night! hehehe!
I use to ALWAYS go to my favorite blogs & just admire everybody elses work & always say to myself "I wish I was that good!" Until one day I finally realized that I just need to focus & have confidence in myself! That's EXACTLY what I did! Then I discovered Peachy Keen Stamps "MY LIFE CHANGED"!!;) It was My personal mission to start a blog, which I did last year in July! All I can say is that I am VERY LUCKY to have been noticed & chosen to be on this AMAZING company's design team! I always tell my boys, if there is something in life you want, DO NOT GIVE UP! It may not happen right away, but it will eventually!;)
BIG Peachy HUGS to all of You!;)

We asked Emma to show us her favorite Peachy project, and here it is!

This one was in her email, too, but coincidentally, it was also OUR favorite! ;)

Come back next Sunday to learn more about Samantha! :)

Peachy Keen Stamps :: Getting to Know Nikki

Sassy, funny, entertaining and above all, CREATIVE! ALL perfect words to describe the power house that is Nikki. She cranks out ton of projects each month, and we are so PROUD to have her showcasing our Peachy characters & faces. {Wanna know what I mean by funny - she made a SPIDER PIG card!! Ha ha one of my faves!!}

How long have you been a designer for Peachy Keen Stamps?

I have been lucky to be part of the Peachy Family since the end of November last year. It's almost my one year peachiversary! Yeah!

How would you describe your design style?
I guess I'd have to say fairly "cutesy".

What is your FAVORITE Peachy Keen Set?
Well this is just a mean question! LOL...I LOVE them all, but if you MADE me choose I'd have to say Everyday Character Faces...AND...Nikkity Knack Cat Gang for obvious reasons!

Besides stamping, what other crafts and hobbies do you enjoy?
I love to crochet, cross-stitch,bead,make ornament covers, and I LOVE to play with my Cricut Expression and Gypsy!

Who inspires you?
All my Peachy sisters of course! They are ALL MEGA TALENTED and I sometimes feel like giving up after seeing their amazing creations! Apart from them...I find inspiration EVERYWHERE...be it a billboard, magazine, or a city bus sign INSPIRATION ABOUNDS if you just keep your eyes open and "see" it!

You're asked to get crafty in a room with absolutely no supplies -you can bring five tools. What do you bring with you?
PeachyKeen Stamps OF COURSE!
Kraft cardstock
paper trimmer
white gel pen
my cricut expression

What is your crafty space like?
It is "mobile". LOL... I have a craft room, but I feel stuck back there...so I do most of my crafting at the kitchen table.

What is your favorite music to play while creating?
I really don't listen to music. I almost always have some outrageously CHEESY lifetime movie on! Come on, you know you watch em too! Fess up!

We wanted to know what Nikki's favorite Peachy Keen project was and she said she loved this one the best {we love it, too!}

Here's the one we chose {and it may look just a wee bit familar ;)}

Thanks for stopping by - stop back again next Sunday, and we'll fill you in on how Emma answered these questions! Have a great week, everyone! :)

****************************************************************

THE CHALLENGE:
Fall is in full swing, and using the month of October an inspiration, create a layout or project based on the season. The only catch is that it can't be a card!

This leaves your theme wide open to Autumn, Halloween, or Harvest Elements (note, since it's October, a Thanksgiving feast scene wouldn't really work for this challenge, but gourds, pumpkins, etc. would be appropriate!)

Please link your blog post URL to Mr. Linky by October 17th.
This challenge will be judged, and the winner will receive a
$25.00 Gift Certificate to Peachy Keen Stamps!

Viv has made Frank absolutely "to-die-for" in this sweet treats coffin! Check out more pictures on her blog! You've gotta see 'em all!

Oh my goodness! These little Halloween Folk treat holders by Lorie are just DEEEE-LIGHTFUL!

Janice's frame is certainly fit for anyone's fall decor! I love the stamps she combined for this project: Happy Scarecrow, Fall Fun Pumpkins, and the wee bird from Happy Mother's Day!

Nikki's project is in and it is SO super sweet! Love that paper and ribbon! She used Lisa Jean Halloween so creatively!

Emma's adorable Autumn-inspired layout was made using our Pumpkin Face Parts and Pumpkin Faces!

Samantha's Witchy Brew scene was cleverly created with Lisa Jean Halloween, Halloween Minis and more! You'll have to check out her blog to see the inside! Amazing!

Isn't Lisa's door hanger so incredibly awesome? She used a few different sets on here including Frankly, Nikkity Knack Cat Gang, Make a Monster and Monster Mash!
